for me the only thing that could be trustworthy in this series is a letter from Miya to Tatsuya explaining everything, and even then I would be suspicious. My references are volume 2 where Tatsuya thinks that he was born unable to use agic and used Flash Cast to complete his task when Mizuki saw, 4 where it was revealed to be a Yotsuba technique and his poor magic skills where displayed, 8 where his status as BS magician is prominent and 16 when Katsushige said himself that they gave him Flash Cast to allow him to use magic.

Looking at Miyuki and Tatsuya now, it might be hard to imagine them as anything other than loving siblings. But it wasn't always this way.
Three years ago, Miyuki was always uncomfortable around her older brother. The rest of their family treated him no better than a lowly servant, even though he was the perfect Guardian, watching over Miyuki while she lived a normal middle school life. But what really bothered her was that he never showed any emotions or thoughts of his own.
However, when danger comes calling during a fateful trip to Okinawa, their relationship as brother and sister will change forever.

@ Wikia contributor 75.11.162.235 Taking away his emotions wasn't a side-effect, but the real reason for messing with his mind at all. Well, then it was a job awfully badly done. So, I don't think so. What would they have done with a robot?

However, the name "amulet of torture" hints at a darker side to this powerful item. It is said that the amulet slowly drains the life force and vitality of the wearer, causing them great pain and suffering over time. The more the wearer relies on the amulet's power, the faster their life force is consumed. This creates a dilemma for those who possess the amulet – do they risk their own health and well-being for the sake of power? In many narratives, characters who possess the amulet of torture are often portrayed as morally ambiguous or outright villainous. They are willing to endure great pain and suffering to gain power and dominance over others. The amulet becomes a symbol of their ambition and dark desires. The amulet of torture also appears in various forms of media beyond role-playing games, such as fantasy literature and movies. It serves as a plot device to test the morals and integrity of the characters. They must decide whether the temporary gain in power is worth the long-term consequences. In conclusion, the amulet of torture is a powerful and enigmatic item in the realm of fantasy and role-playing games. It offers great power and abilities to the wearer but comes at the cost of their own well-being. The amulet represents the struggle between power and morality, and the characters who possess it must make difficult choices about the price they are willing to pay..
