Cory Wong & Ben Rector release new song; new Cory Wong album to come
GRAMMY® Award-nominated songwriter, producer, and guitarist extraordinaire Cory Wong has shared his most unabashedly romantic song to date, “Ready (Feat. Ben Rector),” available now at all DSPs and streaming services.
“This song started when my friend Aaron Sterling said, ‘Hey I've got a drum sample pack coming out, you wanna try jamming over one of the loops?’” says Wong. “I opened up his sample pack and played the first thing that came to mind when I heard the first loop. I built an instrumental hook and rhythm section around it and posted it to Instagram which caught the attention of my friend Ben Rector. Ben is an incredible singer/songwriter whom I toured with for a few years. He saw my video and said, ‘Do you have any plans for this tune? I am hearing a topline on it and want to send you some ideas.’ Within minutes we were writing the song together, sending ideas back and forth over voice text. I recorded all of the instruments over the initial drum loop that Aaron sent and then decided that it would feel much better if we had him just play the same thing with the same sounds, but all the way through so it had more of a live feel to it. It's a song that features Ben's brilliant but simple song/lyric writing, and my guitar style in a unique way that really showcases the collaborative side of this particular song.”
"Cory and I are good friends and go way back (he played in my band before exploding to funk guitar superstardom)" Rector adds. "I saw an Instagram post of him playing over an Aaron Sterling drum loop and started freestyling over it, and a few minutes later I texted him and said we should make it into a song. We sent it back and forth tweaking little things and I think it came together nicely. It was a joy to work on and I'm excited for the song to be out in the world!"

- Jessica - 2 stars - I found "Curse of the Demon" to be disappointing. The plot was confusing and didn't make much sense, and the acting was mediocre at best. The special effects were laughable and didn't add any suspense or horror to the film. Overall, I was bored throughout most of the movie and would not recommend it.

The characters were one-dimensional and unoriginal, and I couldn't connect with any of them. The pacing was slow, and the film failed to build any suspense or tension.
