"Magic Link" Login
Magic Link is an easy way to log into the platform without having to enter your password.
Maybe you have Clients who are not very tech-savvy and have a hard time remembering passwords or just flat-out refuse to "have another place to log in to".
Magic Link Login is available to all users, Staff, or Contacts.
IMPORTANT: By enabling this setting you acknowledge that HIPAA compliance cannot be guaranteed. If you are working with sensitive information that is required by law to be privacy compliant you should NOT enable this setting.
How do I turn on Magic Link?
To get started, navigate to Flyout Menu > Custom URL & Login.
In the Magic Login section, toggle the option to ON.
Once you have enabled Magic Login, fields will appear in which you can customize how Magic Login will look and work for your Users.
Use Custom Icon: Enabling this option will allow you to upload your own custom icon to use instead of the standard magic wand icon. For best results please use a square image of 35px tall and 35px wide. SVGs can be used for the icon!
Valid for how many clicks?: This value will set the number of times that the Magic Login link will be allowed to be clicked and still allow access to the User's account. A higher number is less secure than a lower number. You can set this to any number between 1 and 5 and you can leave the field blank for the default setting of 1 click.
Valid for how many hours?: This value will set the number of hours that the Magic Login link will be valid for. A higher number is less secure than a lower number. You can set this to any number between 1 and 24. You can leave the field blank for the default setting of 1 hour.
TIP: Generally, greater numbers in these fields make it easier for your users, but at the cost of a reduction in security. Please proceed with caution.
How does Magic Link work?
When enabled, your users will see an option to use Magic Link on your custom login page.
Click this link, and you'll be asked to enter your email address.
Once entered, you will instantly receive an email with a button to log in.
Click this button and you will be instantly logged in!
