Trip to Geneva! Nope, not that Geneva. I went to the other Geneva. The charming sleepy city that sits at the top of Seneca Lake in upstate New York.

We made Geneva, NY our landing pad for exploring the area. It’s surrounded by rural land with creative people making interesting things to eat & drink. The glaciers have sculpted clues to a much icier past. Leaving behind peaceful lake views and gorgeous gorges. Driving around reimagining the frozen history is oddly comforting when the temperature is climbing into the 90s!

The mascot is often seen leading cheers, dance routines, and interacting with the crowd during athletic events. The choice of the Aztec Warrior as the university's mascot has not been without controversy. Some argue that the use of Native American imagery and symbols can perpetuate harmful stereotypes and cultural appropriation. However, SDSU has taken steps to ensure that the mascot is respectful and represents the university's commitment to diversity and inclusivity. In recent years, the university has engaged in ongoing dialogue with student groups and Native American organizations to address concerns and seek ways to promote cultural understanding. This has included collaborating with tribes in the region and integrating Native American perspectives into the university's curriculum and programming. Today, the Aztec Warrior remains a beloved symbol of San Diego State University, representing the school's rich history, diverse community, and athletic prowess. The mascot continues to inspire pride, unity, and school spirit among students, alumni, and fans, making it an important part of the university's identity..

- Sarah - 1 star rating - I was disappointed with the San Diego State University mascot. It seemed outdated and unoriginal. I expected more creativity and uniqueness from such a prestigious university. The mascot's appearance didn't have any connection with the university's identity or spirit. It felt disconnected and uninspiring. I hope they consider redesigning it in the future to better represent the school and its values.
- John - 2 stars rating - As an alumnus of San Diego State University, I was let down by the choice of their mascot. It lacked originality and character. It seemed like a generic animal costume that you could find at any amusement park. I expected the mascot to reflect the rich history and culture of the university. Unfortunately, it fell short in that aspect. I hope the university reevaluates their choice and considers a more meaningful and distinctive mascot that truly represents SDSU.
- Rachel - 1 star rating - The San Diego State University mascot left me unimpressed. It looked more like a random animal costume than a mascot representing a respected academic institution. It didn't evoke any sense of pride or excitement. I believe a mascot should be able to energize the crowd and instill a sense of unity among the students and alumni. This design failed to do so. SDSU should reconsider and invest in a mascot that truly embodies the spirit and values of the university.
- Mike - 2 stars rating - I was underwhelmed by the San Diego State University mascot. It lacked personality and didn't generate any enthusiasm. The design felt outdated and didn't resonate with the modern image of the university. I believe a mascot should be able to ignite school spirit and create a sense of belonging. Unfortunately, this mascot failed to achieve that. SDSU should invest in a mascot that is more engaging and representative of the university's vibrant community.
