Getting even is a witch. It is often said that seeking revenge or wanting to "get even" with someone is not a noble pursuit. In fact, it can be likened to the actions of a witch. When someone feels wronged or hurt by another person, it is natural to feel a desire for justice or retribution. However, pursuing revenge rarely leads to a positive outcome. Rather, it tends to perpetuate a cycle of negativity and harm.

As time runs out, the children remember they are castaways from another planet and are soon led by one of their own kind, Uncle Bene, to a flying saucer which blasts off for the sanctuary of Witch Mountain, leaving their captors below far behind. I’d like to draw some interesting comparisons to Escape to Witch Mountain. I only recall watching it once as a child, but just about everything about it was burned into my memory so vividly that I always considered it a personal favorite, even though I didn’t feel the need to rewatch it as an adult until recently. When I did, I was flooded with childhood memories. The bully. The feeling of homesickness and abandonment (even though that was just a fear of mine, never a reality). The inability to express one’s thoughts and feelings verbally. The longing for something indescribable. It’s all there.
I don’t mean to say that Escape to Witch Mountain is perfect, but it is a wonderful exploration of childhood fears and yearnings. It’s about a couple of orphans who want to find a place where they belong. I will liken it to things of a spiritual nature as a way to illustrate them in an artful manner.
These emotions, when fueled by revenge, can consume a person's thoughts and actions, turning them into a figurative witch. Just as a witch is driven by darkness and negativity, seeking revenge can transform a person into someone who is focused solely on causing harm to others. Furthermore, seeking revenge can be a draining and destructive endeavor. It takes a significant amount of time, energy, and resources to plot and execute a plan to get even with someone. This means that while a person is consumed with thoughts of revenge, they are neglecting other aspects of their life that could bring them happiness and fulfillment. In a way, they become so fixated on seeking revenge that they become a witch, consumed by darkness and unable to see the light. In the end, getting even is a witch because it goes against the principles of empathy, forgiveness, and compassion. Instead of seeking revenge, it is important to focus on personal growth and healing. It is more beneficial to let go of negative emotions and move forward in a positive and constructive way. Only then can true healing and happiness be achieved. Just as a witch can transform into a benevolent being, seeking forgiveness and compassion can transform a person from seeking revenge into someone who is capable of finding peace..
