Setting intentions for the coming year: Wiccan Samhain rituals

By admin

Wiccan Samhain rituals hold significant importance in the Wiccan religion. Samhain is a holiday celebrated by Wiccans on October 31st and November 1st, marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. It is believed that during this time, the boundary between the physical world and the spiritual realm is the thinnest, allowing for heightened communication with ancestors and spirits. Wiccans use this time to honor their deceased loved ones and seek guidance for the coming year. One of the main rituals performed during Samhain is the setting of an ancestral altar. This altar serves as a focal point for connecting with ancestors and can be decorated with photographs, mementos, and offerings.

I think this is a song about a guy that needs to stop being so whipped.

He is going through a real life break up and by saying how i don t and i don and i don t and i don t want anybody else but you is a bit of a confusing reference, perhaps suggesting that he isn t sure how he feels about it. This song definitely was for Gwen and I think it says a lot of their relationship, he was probably harsh to her or going through something that brought a darker side of himself.

This altar serves as a focal point for connecting with ancestors and can be decorated with photographs, mementos, and offerings. Wiccans may also choose to light candles and incense on the altar, creating a welcoming space for spirits to visit and commune with the living. Another important aspect of Wiccan Samhain rituals is the practice of divination.

Coldplay: Magic Meaning

If you replace the word "magic" with "love" everywhere in the song, then read all the lyrics, the song is obviously about a breakup but still loving who you've just broken up with. Given that this song came out a few months after Chris's marriage broke down, it's obviously about working out how to cope with that situation.

I believe the line "and I just got broken, broken into two" refers to two sides of himself, one side he wants to get rid of (as in the music video, the negative mean side) and wants the magic "love" to continue but he knows he has to get rid of the negative mean side of himself if he ever wanted it. This song definitely was for Gwen and I think it says a lot of their relationship, he was probably harsh to her or going through something that brought a darker side of himself. Yet even having these two sides, one that loved her so much and the other that was possesive and hurtful, he knew he wanted her and that their love was "magic"

I agree it’s about the magic of being in love.

I personally think the ‘broken into two’ line though could mean that you give half of yourself to the other person when you’re in love.

I think that this song is about heartbreak and how to he's still in love with that person but he doesn't want to be, this person has obviously broken his heart, when he sings "and I just got broken, broken into two", but eventhough she did that to him he still in love with her "still I call it magic, when I'm with you"
You don't know if magic is real or not and I suppose he means that he doesn't know if he still wants to love her or if he wants to move on.
I also think it's about him remembering his past relationship and how he still wants to be with her Eventhough she's moved on. It's a very good song and I love it!!

I feel this song is about a man in pain, confused and the only thing he knows is that their relationship is magical and he doesn't want to make it work with anyone else. Its about fighting through the tough times in a relationship. see the magical aspects of love

Magic in its true sense is something which is not only beautiful but also cannot be explained. So he uses the word "Magic" for the love he feels for her.

Even though their relationship is now over and he is broken into two, his feelings for his beloved are not changed.

After all the torture he went through at the breaking point of their relationship, he still manages to love her and believes in her "Magic".

"Magic" is about misconception because you never no whether magic is reality or allusion. Chris Martin is probably inferring that he still feels stuck in a beautiful reality with Gwyneth, but deep down knows that he is dreaming about the past and cannot imagine being with anyone else but her. He probably is unsure of his feelings, whether he still really loves her or just tricked himself into believing that he does.

I think he is singing to the person who he is still in love with even though he is was broken/cut by her. Right now he doesn't want anyone else and is not over her; but when he says he wants to fall hard, it's in general. He wants to fall in love again and feel love (magic) for someone else. He still believes in love (magic) after all his pain.

Whatever the song true meaning may be, only the songwriter will really know. What I do know, is that I absolutely LOVE this song! I love the lyrics, the beat, the guitar, I could just listen to this full blast in my car over and over. The sound just makes me happy, peaceful, and smile! Love it

I like your theory of it being with someone new but i personally think its about Gwyneth saying how much he loved her and that it was magic. He is going through a real life break up and by saying how "i don't and i don and i don't and i don't want anybody else but you" is a bit of a confusing reference, perhaps suggesting that he isn't sure how he feels about it. Although it didn't last, Chris is reflecting on his brilliant relationship that didn't work out. When you go through a breakup, you are devastated, you cant see yourself with anyone else and this might explain it if he is going through this phase. A beautiful song that brings a tear to my eye anonymous

I feel as if this song is about starting a relationship with someone new, possibly one's best friend, after getting your heart broken.

When he sings, "And I just got broken, Broken into two. Still I call it magic, When I'm next to you" he is saying he just got his heart broken by someone else, but he believes the relationship he has with this significant other is "magic" because he is healing from his past heart break.

Throughout the song, he also says he doesn't want anyone else but the person he's dating. This usually happens, and is refereed to as the "honey moon phase" where a new couple is completely infatuated with one another and feels as if they are invisible. This is shown when he says, "Cut me into two, And with all your magic, I disappear from view" showing his feelings of invisibility.

And last of all, when he says "Wanna fall, I fall so far. I wanna fall,I fall so hard" he is saying he is looking forward to falling in love with the person he's in a relationship with. This shows that he may not yet be in love, but he is looking forward to it.

As far as the best friend part goes, i thought it may be a strong possibility he is in a relationship with his "best friend" when he says in his song, "And if you were to ask me, After all that we've been through, Still believe in magic, Oh yes I do". The reason i think this may (or i could be wrong) be about him being in a relationship with a close or best friend is because he mentions that he's been through a lot with this particular person.

And last of all, when he says "Wanna fall, I fall so far. I wanna fall,I fall so hard" he is saying he is looking forward to falling in love with the person he's in a relationship with. This shows that he may not yet be in love, but he is looking forward to it.
Wiccan samhain rituals

Wiccans believe that during this time, the veil between the worlds is lifted, making it an ideal opportunity to seek insights and guidance from the spiritual realm. Various divination tools such as tarot cards, scrying mirrors, and pendulums are often used to connect with spirits and receive messages. In addition to honoring ancestors and seeking guidance, Wiccans also perform rituals to release negative energies and let go of the past. This can involve writing down things one wishes to let go of, whether it be old habits, emotional baggage, or anything else holding them back. These written intentions are then symbolically burned or buried as a way of releasing them and making space for new beginnings. Overall, Wiccan Samhain rituals are deeply rooted in honoring ancestors, seeking guidance, and letting go of the past. The thinning of the veil during this time creates a powerful opportunity for spiritual connection and growth. By embracing these rituals, Wiccans can deepen their connection to the spiritual realm and find a sense of renewal and transformation as they enter the winter season..

I attended a Wiccan Samhain ritual and it was a complete waste of time. The whole thing felt like some weird theatrical performance rather than a spiritual gathering. The participants were wearing these ridiculous costumes and reciting what sounded like made-up spells. I'm all for exploring different beliefs and practices, but this just felt silly and pretentious. Needless to say, I won't be attending another one of these rituals in the future.

I'm usually open-minded when it comes to alternative spiritual practices, but the Wiccan Samhain ritual I went to was quite underwhelming. It lacked depth and authenticity. The leader of the ritual seemed more interested in showing off their acting skills than guiding us through a meaningful experience. I didn't feel connected to anything spiritual or profound. Overall, I left feeling disappointed and unconvinced by the whole thing.

I have to say, I was extremely disappointed with the Wiccan Samhain ritual I attended. It felt like a bunch of new-age nonsense without any substance. The participants were performing these weird dances and chants that didn't resonate with me at all. I was hoping for a deep and meaningful experience, but all I got was a bunch of people playing dress-up and pretending to be witches. I won't be wasting my time on this again.

I had high hopes for the Wiccan Samhain ritual, but unfortunately, it fell short. The atmosphere was quite chaotic, and it was hard to focus on the intended spiritual purpose. The rituals and spells performed seemed more like gimmicks and didn't evoke any genuine sense of connection or meaning. While I appreciate the effort put into organizing the event, it just didn't resonate with me on a deeper level.
