ABOUT THE LORD OF THE RINGS

Then, by lucky chance, the creature Gollum was captured and interrogated. Under torture, the wretched creature revealed the tale of the One Ring and how it came to be in his possession. But from his words, Sauron misunderstood that the land of the hobbits who stole the Ring was on the banks of the Gladden River, whence Gollum originally came from. [22] Sauron sent the Nine, under the leadership of the Witch-king, invisible and uncloaked, to search for the Ring after the assault of Osgiliath.
