Black Girls are Magic: Celebrating Strength and Resilience

By admin

Black girls must be magic Black girls are incredible and magical beings that defy all odds and continue to shine despite facing numerous challenges. Their strength, resilience, and determination are truly awe-inspiring. From a young age, black girls face societal pressures and stereotypes that can hinder their self-confidence and self-worth. However, they rise above these barriers and embrace their uniqueness. They exude grace, power, and intelligence, breaking down barriers and paving the way for future generations. Black girls are trailblazers, excelling in various fields such as science, arts, sports, and activism.

“Heartwarming, thoughtful, and romantic: Brigid Kemmerer took me on a magical journey with this dark fairy tale about growing up, falling in love, and making impossible choices. I can't wait to see where these characters go next.” —Jodi Meadows, New York Times bestselling co-author of MY LADY JANE and MY PLAIN JANE

Has everything you d want in a retelling of a classic fairy tale a finely-drawn fantasy world, a heroine rarely seen in fiction, and a tortured hero with a secret. Little Miss Daisy reading her romance books with the cute covers and hot content inside I m considered the reckless Lancaster so when I get in trouble on the first day of school, my punishment is having to work in the headmaster s office every day, stuck with Daisy.

A curse for genuine tenderness Stephanie Garber

Black girls are trailblazers, excelling in various fields such as science, arts, sports, and activism. They inspire others with their achievements and prove that dreams can become realities with hard work and perseverance. They challenge the notion that success is limited to certain groups and remind us all that talent knows no bounds.

Friday Finds & Reader Recommendations – 10-20-2023

LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO READ? HOLY MOLY DO I HAVE YOU OVERED!! SINCE SO MANY BOOKS WENT LIVE IN THE LAST 24 HOURS, AND SO MANY are rocking the Amazon charts as we speak, I’m going to label the standouts as “in the top 100, top 50, top 10“… You get the picture. 😉

And as fast as they are charting, maybe these are officially already tried-and-true awesomeness? *fingers crossed*

My “favorite thing this week (so far)” is…

MY UPCOMING WEEKEND PROJECT!! Which started by getting these 16″ x 16″ matted frames from last week’s Prime Day shopping extravaganza and finally being able to put my watercolor canvas sea turtle prints (this one, and this one but mine were actually not yet framed like these yet, but these are the same as my prints and they are 16×16) up this weekend. Project. Planned. I can’t wait!!

P.S. And LOL yes, my house is “nautical/coastal” due to some HUGE fish/fishing paintings that my man loves and purchased for the house. 😂 I had to match the vibe, yeah? I am loving it!!

TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT WE FOUND FOR THE WEEKEND !!

  • House of Gods (Royal Houses Book 4) by K.A. Linde “...Return to the story of Kerrigan Argon, a half-Fae, half-human as she seeks her place in an unforgiving world filled with magic, mayhem, and romance. Perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas, Holly Black, and V.E. Schwab...”
  • Jingle Bell Fling by Scarlett Cole
  • Roughneck: Steamy Small Town Dark Romance Collection (Stud Ranch Standalone) by Stasia Black
  • Mad Love: Bad Boy Romance Collection by Naughty Aphrodite
  • The Love of My Next Life (Next Life Duet Book 1) by Brit Benson

Elijah: Have you read The Love of My Next Life by Brit Benson? (It’s a duet) Yes, it’s angsty (although probably not as angsty as the stuff in your list). It’s mostly petty high school drama type of thing, but it’s very entertaining and I really liked the main couple together! He’s possessive and she’s really attracted to him. It’s very interesting, and although it wasn’t quite the type of angsty romance drama I was looking for, I definitely really enjoyed it. 🙂

P.S. Can I ask you for recommendations? I’m looking for a certain type of read in this genre, and I’ve only read The Next Life duet so far (it was my introduction to this type of story).

Maryse: Thank you Elijah!! Have you read anything off of this list yet? —> What to Read After Beautiful Disaster: https://www.maryse.net/books/my-favorite-books/what-to-read-after-beautiful-disaster.html

I think you’ll LOVE these!!

  • My Darling Christmas (Willow Valley Book 4) by S.L. Sterling “…Then I saw Cadence and for the first time since my wife died I actually thought I could heal. She made me feel alive, made the pain go away. So why did I feel so guilty? One minute I was longing to hold her, the next I was pushing her away, until I finally pushed too hard and sent her running. I didn’t want to fail my best friend, and I didn’t want to fail Cadence. We all needed our Christmas wish and I decided to do whatever it took to make sure we got it...”

MichelleS: The Promise, The Friend, I Will Make You Pay, I Am Watching You – by Teresa Driscoll
I read these back to back because I got totally sucked into her world. These are suspense, crime thrillers. They take place in England, and I just loved all the lingo. If you are in the mood for some suspense, try these.

They are stand alones, but there are a couple of recurring characters, which makes them even more appealing (the private investigator and cop).

  • Into Their Woods (The Eerie Book 1) by Ivy Asher and Ann Denton “...I didn’t think pulling off for a quick bite to eat in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere would change everything. Especially since this AirBnB mix-up is turning out to be the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Maybe. Black girls must be magic

The magic of black girls is not only seen in their accomplishments but also in their ability to uplift and empower others. They have a remarkable way of creating a sense of community and unity. They support one another, celebrate each other's successes, and lift each other up during times of struggle. Their magic is in their laughter, their smiles, and their zest for life. They radiate joy and bring light to the darkest of moments. Their resilience is a testament to their magic, as they continue to thrive in the face of adversity. Black girls must be celebrated, appreciated, and given the platforms they rightfully deserve. They hold a significant place in our society, and their contributions should be recognized and valued. It is crucial to create spaces that amplify their voices, experiences, and stories. In a world that often tries to erase or diminish the magic of black girls, it is essential to affirm their worth and remind them of their power. We must actively work to dismantle systemic racism and uplift their voices. By doing so, we can help create a world where all black girls can thrive and unlock their full potential. In conclusion, black girls are magic. Their strength, resilience, and determination are unmatched. They continue to break down barriers and inspire others with their achievements. We must celebrate and uplift black girls, creating a society that recognizes and values their magic..

Reviews for "Embracing Black Girl Magic Through Education: Nurturing Success and Achievement"

1. John - 2 stars - "I was really disappointed with 'Black girls must be magic'. While I appreciate the empowerment of black women, I found this book to be poorly written and lacking depth. The stories felt rushed and the characters were one-dimensional. I was expecting more substance and a stronger narrative. Overall, it didn't live up to the hype for me."
2. Sarah - 3 stars - "I understand the importance of highlighting the experiences and accomplishments of black girls, but I felt that 'Black girls must be magic' was somewhat underwhelming. The stories felt repetitive and I was hoping for more variety in the themes and perspectives. Additionally, some of the writing felt cliché and predictable. While it had its moments, it didn't fully engage me as a reader."
3. Mark - 2 stars - "I had high hopes for 'Black girls must be magic', but unfortunately, it fell short for me. The stories lacked depth and didn't fully explore the complexities of the black female experience. I found myself wanting more substance and complexity in the narratives. It's an important concept, but the execution left me wanting more."
