Castlevania: Curse of Gratula is a popular video game that was released in 1991. It is part of the long-running Castlevania series, which features various action-adventure games with a gothic horror theme. This particular installment takes place in the year 1691 and follows the story of a vampire hunter named Simon Belmont. The objective of the game is for Simon to defeat Count Dracula, who has been resurrected once again and is inflicting terror upon the land. Simon must navigate through Dracula's castle, which is filled with dangerous enemies, treacherous traps, and challenging platforming sections. As players progress through the game, they can discover hidden items, power-ups, and weapons to aid them in their journey.

Curse of Gratula features several different levels, each with its own unique theme and boss encounter.

The Multi-Hobbyist

I previously promised to share my lipstick collection, so here's another entry! This was launched about two years ago, but heck, I still feel like it's worth sharing. See for yourself and let me know. ;)

Okay, so I bought this pre-Christmas in 2015. Back then, I told myself I should lay off or at least limit my impulse buys. I figured, I'm not getting any younger and this unnecessary stuff will soon become a clutter.

MAC Cosmetics Magic Of the Night

But every day, I always drop by Megamall simply because it's on my way home. And I swear, I always pass by MAC Cosmetics! And since I love me some makeup, I was always low-key checking out new limited edition collections in store.

I managed to control myself with most of the new LEs. For this particular day, I planned to do the usual, but I failed. My feet led me to the MAC counters when I saw the Magic of the Night collection!

The collection consisted of 3 bullet lipsticks, 2 lip liners, 5 pigments, 2 eyeliners, and a highlighter.

This bold violet lipstick tube just caught my eye. I told myself I was just going to look. I checked out all the shades and poof. I found myself on the counter, paying for a new lipstick that I may or may not need. Only time can tell. 😅

What I loved the most is the packaging. It's a chromatic electric purple. And coincidentally, it even went well with my nail color that time!

So just so you know, I only buy matte lipsticks because I'm acidic. And matte works with me best because it tends to last longer as compared to other finishes.

I went with Evening Rendezvous because I haven't had a shade similar to this (side note: I looooove vampy lipsticks). And when I tried it, it looked good with my skin tone.

The shade is a nice berry color with cool undertones. Although it's matte, it's not that drying. In fact, I love how it's a little bit creamy yet still a matte finish.

So anyway, here's how it looks on me. I did blot though because it's a little bit creamy and I wanted an all-matte finish.

From the eerie forests and the haunted mansion to the clock tower and the depths of the catacombs, players will face off against a variety of grotesque enemies and powerful bosses. The difficulty of the game increases as players advance, testing their reflexes, timing, and strategic thinking. However, skilled players can unlock multiple endings depending on their performance throughout the game. The graphics of Curse of Gratula were impressive for its time, showcasing detailed character sprites and atmospheric backgrounds. The music, composed by Kinuyo Yamashita and Satoe Terashima, is also considered some of the best in the series and is fondly remembered by fans. Castlevania: Curse of Gratula has received positive reviews from critics and players alike. Its challenging gameplay, engaging story, and memorable music have contributed to its status as a beloved classic in the gaming industry. The game's success has led to the creation of numerous sequels and spin-offs, solidifying the Castlevania franchise as one of the most influential in gaming history..

Reviews for "The challenges of level design in Castlevania: Curse of Gracula"

1. John - 2/5 stars - I was really disappointed with "Castlevania: Curse of Gratula". The storyline was confusing and hard to follow, with little explanation of what was happening. The gameplay itself was quite repetitive, with repetitive enemy types and uninspiring level designs. I also found the controls to be clunky and unresponsive, which affected my overall enjoyment of the game. Overall, I felt that "Castlevania: Curse of Gratula" lacked the charm and excitement that the previous games in the series had, and it failed to live up to my expectations.
2. Sarah - 1/5 stars - "Castlevania: Curse of Gratula" was a complete letdown. The graphics were subpar and lacked the level of detail that I was expecting. The music was repetitive and didn't add to the overall atmosphere of the game. The difficulty level was also unbalanced, with some sections being way too easy and others being unfairly hard. I found myself getting frustrated and bored with the game quickly. The lack of innovation and originality also contributed to my disappointment. Overall, I would not recommend "Castlevania: Curse of Gratula" to any fans of the series.
3. Michael - 2/5 stars - I had high hopes for "Castlevania: Curse of Gratula", but it fell short in many areas. The gameplay felt clunky and unpolished, with awkward controls and a confusing level structure. The boss battles were also a letdown, lacking the epic and challenging moments that the previous Castlevania games were known for. Additionally, the game suffered from repetitive enemy encounters, which made the overall experience feel monotonous. I was really hoping for a new and exciting installment in the series, but unfortunately, "Castlevania: Curse of Gratula" failed to deliver.
