The trail offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape and provides a great opportunity to immerse oneself in nature. The trail is well-maintained and can be accessed from various points in the town. It is a moderately difficult trail, suitable for hikers of all levels of experience. This ride connects 3 must-do trails in the area. Start on the ski area with the Prospect loop trail that winds through the bike park and climbs over 1,000 ft. to Prospect Bowl. Then join the new Magic Meadows trail that is a long flowy downhill thought the Alta Lakes area and all the way to State Highway 145. Finally, the T-35 downhill trail is a fast and fairly technical 6-8 minute shred to the dirt Illium road below. This ride will require a Cross Country bike pass to exit the Gondola (to get to the trailhead) between 9:00am and 5:00pm. This ride will also require a shuttle to be arranged beforehand (turning it into a loop ride would be ambitious). The trail conditions are generally outstanding and well-marked with signs. Just remember to go fast and have fun.

Not a beginner trail because of its length in remote terrain but it is doable for beginner mountain bikers who are looking for an adventure and who want a taste of backcountry riding. I recently visited Mavic Meadows Trail in Telluride and I must say, I was not impressed. The trail was poorly maintained, with overgrown vegetation and fallen branches blocking the path. It was clear that no effort had been put into maintaining this trail in a long time. The lack of maintenance made it difficult to hike and navigate through the dense foliage. Additionally, the views on this trail were underwhelming. I had expected stunning vistas and beautiful scenery, but all I got was a mediocre view of a few trees and bushes. Overall, my experience on the Mavic Meadows Trail was quite disappointing.

I would not recommend the Mavic Meadows Trail in Telluride to anyone. The trail was incredibly boring and lacked any sort of excitement or unique features. It was just a mundane walk through a dull forest with no interesting sights or points of interest. Furthermore, the trail was poorly marked and I found myself getting lost multiple times. It was frustrating and took away from my overall enjoyment of the hike. Save yourself the disappointment and choose a different trail in the area. There are plenty of other hikes in Telluride that offer much more rewarding experiences.

I had high expectations for the Mavic Meadows Trail in Telluride, but it fell short of those expectations. The trail was overcrowded and noisy, making it difficult to enjoy the peacefulness of nature. There were a lot of families with young children on the trail, which took away from the tranquility. Additionally, the trail itself was not well-maintained. It was muddy and slippery in some sections, which made it dangerous to hike. I was constantly worried about slipping and falling. Overall, I was disappointed with my experience on the Mavic Meadows Trail. I would recommend looking for a quieter and better-maintained trail in the area.
