Understanding the Power of Nicolas' Rib Witchcraft

By admin

Nicolas has been accused of practicing rib witchcraft. This strange accusation has left many baffled and curious about the nature of this supposed witchcraft. People are unsure of what exactly rib witchcraft entails and how Nicolas may be involved in it. The accusation seems to stem from rumors and speculation, rather than any concrete evidence. Rib witchcraft, as the name suggests, seems to involve the use of ribs for magical purposes. However, the details of how this is done remain unclear.

Here's my suggestion for a better way to do the Parasite: make it work exactly as it does now with the following changes:
a) It no longer eventually kills you.
b) Each worm that attaches to you reduces your max health more until you cure the parasite. Note that if enough worms get you, your max health will be reduced to 0 or less which will insta-kill you. Even with only three or four worms though your life will be so low it might be difficult (but not impossible!) to survive many encounters.

It s basically a one-hit kill on you unless you can speed through the level in time, which is unlikely; you may very well be minutes from victory and just die. The fact that the doors lock behind you when monsters are present means that if you just happen to walk in right next to two of the big bruiser types you might just be instakilled once they go combat active unless you happen to have a beetle to save you.

However, the details of how this is done remain unclear. Some speculate that it may involve the manipulation of rib bones to cast spells or create potions. Others believe that it could be a reference to some sort of ritual or incantation involving ribs.

So I've played a decent amount of this game so far. I beat it with the Detective, and have played as both the Doctor and the Witch; I just unlocked the Thief. For the most part, I'm enjoying the game a lot. It's definitely difficult, fun, and has just enough non-combat detective work to really nail the Lovecraft feel. So kudos for that.

That said, there are a few issues that bear mentioning, hiccups that I hope the devs can iron out.

Here are my gripes/suggestions:

1) PLEASE allow for a separate save file for each character, or at least allow the game to remember the money/info counts for characters if you switch off of them! As it stands now, when you unlock a new character you need to choose between finishing the game with your current one or zeroing your current character's money for when you inevitably go back to playing them. This is BY FAR my biggest pet peeve with the game so far. As I mentioned earlier, I just unlocked the Thief, and boy I'd love to start trying her out, but if I do that then all the time I just spent scouring the map for the items I had to drop due to inventory space with the Witch so I could sell them to the shops will have been wasted, and that's pretty frustrating.

2) Make the "stunned" status effect wear off immediately if the last enemy in the room dies. It is really annoying to have to twiddle your thumbs while waiting for the game to let you actually play again when the last monster stuns you right before you kill them, and there's really no reason to keep players stunned once all the enemies in the room are defeated anyway.

3) The Parasite status effect. I absolutely hate it. It's basically a one-hit kill on you unless you can speed through the level in time, which is unlikely; you may very well be minutes from victory and just die. Every time I get a parasite I suicide charge and try again. I know there are (rare, expensive) consumables that can get rid of it, but I didn't have them at the time, so a worm touches me and it's GG, I have basically no chance of winning and will probably just end up wasting my time if I don't suicide and try again from the beginning.

I think that's a way less frustrating to deal with way of handling the Parasite debuff that keeps the threat level pretty high, but still gives the player a chance.

4) Please make a single "bone" drop rather than the skull, spine, ribcage, etc. it REALLY messes with inventory space (especially for the Witch) to have to juggle a bunch of different bone types. If this is impossible for some reason than at the very, very least make them able to all stack together. As it is now it's an annoyance at best, and a frustrating time waster at worst.

5) A separate "quest items" spot in your backpack (similar to the spots for keys). Inventory space can be kind of tight sometimes (especially for the Witch, see above), and having to lug around even 2 quest items can be annoying. Some quests require even more than that. It would help a lot if those items effectively didn't take up inventory space.

6) I'd love it if there was something in the code that insured that, upon entering a new room, monsters will not be spawned within a certain radius of the player. The fact that the doors lock behind you when monsters are present means that if you just happen to walk in right next to two of the big bruiser types you might just be instakilled once they go combat active (unless you happen to have a beetle to save you). I probably tried like 30 times to clear the tomb area with the Professor, and each time I died was because I'd go into a room and have two big nasty guys spawn right by me. Really annoying.

7) There's something buggy with the Professor's shield ability. I'm not sure why, but it seems like it frequently fails to activate if I trigger it while I'm firing his weapon. Given that items can be used seamlessly while firing, as can other characters' defensive abilities, I assume this is a bug rather than the intent.

Anyway, just to reiterate the game is really fun, I don't want to seem like I hate it or something. These just happen to be my biggest issues with it at the moment, and I hope the devs can clear them up to make an already great game better =)

3) The Parasite status effect. I absolutely hate it. Nicolas works rib witchcraft

Despite the lack of evidence or understanding of rib witchcraft, Nicolas has found himself at the center of attention. People are quick to judge and draw conclusions without any solid proof. There is a sense of fear and suspicion surrounding him, as if he possesses some dark and dangerous power. It is important, however, to approach this situation with a rational mindset. Accusations of witchcraft have a long history of being used to target and persecute individuals who are different or misunderstood. It is easy to fall into the trap of prejudice and fear when faced with something unfamiliar. Instead of jumping to conclusions, it would be wiser to seek a better understanding of what rib witchcraft actually entails. This can be achieved through research, dialogue, and open-mindedness. By taking the time to learn more about this topic, we can avoid perpetuating baseless accusations and potentially harmful stereotypes. In conclusion, Nicolas has been accused of practicing rib witchcraft, a mysterious and enigmatic form of magic involving ribs. However, it is crucial to approach this issue with an open mind and a desire for understanding. Jumping to conclusions or perpetuating stereotypes will only further perpetuate unjust treatment and discrimination. It is our responsibility to seek the truth and dispel fears rooted in ignorance..
