Milwaukee Wave
In 1984, club president Tony Ramos announced the formation of an indoor soccer franchise known as the Milwaukee Wave. [1] The Wave have played their home games at various locations, including the Milwaukee Auditorium, the Bradley Center, and the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.[2] Although mired near the bottom of the American Indoor Soccer Association ranks for much of the 1980s, the Wave made their first playoff appearance in 1989 and began an impressive run of success under new coach Keith Tozer, beginning in 1992.[3]
In the 1993-94 season, Michael King joined the team and quickly became a star, shattering the club record for scoring in a season. He remains the Wave’s all-time leading goal scorer and was a fixture at the club for the following fifteen seasons. In his fifth season with the team, they won their first titles. King’s scoring and the goal keeping of Victor Nogueira propelled Milwaukee to a victory over the St. Louis Ambush in the National Premier Soccer League Championship Series. Nogueira enjoyed one of the finest seasons ever in the NPSL that year, as he was named the 1 st team-All League goalkeeper, Regular Season Most Valuable Player, All Star Game MVP, and playoff MVP.
The legacy of the mini-dynasty was sealed over the following four years when they returned to the playoff championship series four times, winning one more crown. The team remained dominant in the league and drew hundreds of thousands of fans to their home games.
Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) became increasingly popular in the 1980s, precipitating national television contracts, which happened to coincide with what was perhaps the Wave’s finest ever team. That team reached their peak at the end of the 2004/05 season, when Greg Howes and Todd Dusosky led the team to yet another league title.
At the same time that the indoor side was enjoying this golden era, they were attempting to expand their brand to the outdoor scene. After the 2002 season, the Milwaukee Rampage, then of the United Soccer League A-League, announced that it had run out of business and had been purchased by the Milwaukee Wave. Thus, Milwaukee Wave United was launched as the Wave hierarchy sought to preserve an outdoor soccer presence in the city.[4] The outdoor experiment lasted just two seasons in the A-League before they called it quits.[5]
While the outdoor side of things did not work out, the Wave continued to remain a fixture near the top of the MISL standings and won the club’s sixth league title in 2011. They have continued to expand their outreach programs by running summer soccer camps for area youth.

On Mascot Game day, Wave will look to win sixth straight Sunday vs. Rampage
Coming off a big win over the defending Major Arena Soccer League champions, the Wave have another tough test coming up this weekend at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. Milwaukee hosts Cedar Rapids on Sunday afternoon at 2:05 p.m. The game theme is "Not So Scary" Halloween.
By Jimmy Carlton Sportswriter Published Jan 27, 2017 at 3:29 PMComing off a big win over the Baltimore Blast, the defending Major Arena Soccer League champions, the Wave have another tough test coming up this weekend at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.
The six-time indoor league champions host the Cedar Rapids Rampage (10-4), who is in first place in the MASL Central Division, one game and two spots ahead of Milwaukee (9-5) in the standings. Kickoff is Sunday afternoon at 2:05 p.m., and there’s no Green Bay Packers game to compete for local sports attention.
"The entire team is well aware of how important this game is to our season," said head coach Giuliano Oliviero. "This game for us is a playoff game. We’re still playing from behind, but if we get the result we want Sunday, it puts us in a tie for second place. I think we’re ready for it, and we’ll all be putting our best foot forward."
Besides the game’s playoff implications, Sunday is also Milwaukee’s "Not So Scary" Halloween Party. That’s right; Halloween in January.
The Wave is calling all young soccer-lovers to come out to the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena dressed up and ready to take part in pregame trick-or-treating to get some candy in the concourse from 1 to 1:45 p.m.
There will also be the famous mascot game at halftime, as well as, of course, the free 20-minute autograph session with the whole team on the field after the game. Fans can also enjoy $2 sodas and $2 beers at Red Leine's Hut.
The charity for Sunday’s game is March of Dimes. Wave game tickets are available at Milwaukeewave.com or at the box office.
The Wave, currently in third place in the MASL Central Division, is currently on a five-game winning streak. Milwaukee has a 5-1 record at home. The Wave is led in scoring by forward Ian Bennett, who has 36 goals and seven assists. His 43 points are third-most in MASL and his 13 power play goals rank first. Fellow forward Max Ferdinand is second on the team in points, with 36, and his 21 assists lead the league. Forward Robert Renaud has 11 goals and nine assists for 20 points.
Besides Bennett – who was named to the MASL’s Team of the Week after he had a four-goal weekend, with two goals in each of the Wave’s two victories – another Milwaukee player to watch is Chad Vandegriffe. The defender was also named to the league’s team of the week for Week 13, when he totaled seven blocks, had an assist and helped limit Baltimore and St. Louis to a combined five goals in the wins.

The Noble Peach Coronet and Talisman was a huge disappointment for me. I had high expectations after hearing about the reputation of this brand, but the product fell short in many ways. Firstly, the fragrance was overwhelming and gave me a headache. The scent was too sweet and artificial, making it unbearable to wear for more than a few minutes. Additionally, the quality of the materials used for the coronet and talisman felt cheap and flimsy. They lacked the elegance and finesse that I expected from a high-end brand. Overall, I would not recommend this product to anyone looking for a quality fragrance and accessory.

I was not impressed with the Noble Peach Coronet and Talisman. For one, the scent was not what I was expecting. It smelled overly synthetic and didn't have a natural peach fragrance. I found it too overpowering and it gave me a headache whenever I wore it. Additionally, the coronet and talisman looked beautiful in pictures, but in reality, they were poorly made. The materials used felt cheap and didn't have the luxurious touch I was anticipating. Overall, I was disappointed with this purchase and wouldn't recommend it to others.

I had high hopes for the Noble Peach Coronet and Talisman, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. The fragrance was far too sweet for my taste, and it lingered for hours, which eventually became nauseating. The quality of the coronet and talisman was also underwhelming. The materials felt flimsy and poorly constructed. I was disappointed with the overall presentation and performance of this product. I won't be repurchasing this, and I wouldn't recommend it to those who prefer a more subtle and sophisticated scent.
