The Rocky Colavito Curse is a longstanding belief among fans of the Detroit Tigers baseball team. It is said that the curse started when the Tigers traded away outfielder Rocky Colavito in 1960. Colavito was a fan favorite and had been a successful player for the Tigers, hitting 139 home runs in his four seasons with the team. After Colavito was traded to the Cleveland Indians, the Tigers went on to have a long championship drought. They did not win a World Series until 1984, a span of 19 years. Many fans believe that the curse of trading away Colavito was the reason for this drought.
