Supporting Local: The Sitch Shop Reopens with Local Artists

By admin

Dear Customers, We are thrilled to announce that after months of temporary closure due to the ongoing pandemic, we are finally reopening The Sitch Shop! The wait is finally over, and we are eager to welcome you back to our store. Ensuring the safety and well-being of our customers and staff is our top priority. Therefore, we have implemented several measures to create a safe shopping environment. Our store has been thoroughly sanitized, and we have installed hand sanitizer stations throughout the premises. Additionally, we will be limiting the number of customers allowed in the store at any given time to maintain social distancing guidelines. We understand that some of you may still prefer to shop from the comfort of your homes.

I hope you’ll find a chance to come and visit us this year! We’ve missed our tribe!

Rosa inspires me still, that there is work to be done, that we must choose every day, to do the right thing; good choices by good people can, and will, change the world. After returning just about everything and repurchasing in a 2X which ended up fitting way better It was a real wake-up call to start a new journey, but that s for another post on another day.

Review: Stitch Shoppe by Loungefly

Let’s talk Stitch Shoppe by Loungefly. When Loungefly let the world know they were now designing clothing it was a no-brainer that I had to grab a few pieces. That first collection was amazing! but did come with challenges for myself. So I wrote about it here.

Loungefly/Funko being an incredible company, decided that my experiences were one-off and sent over pieces for me to try. I was astounded by how kind and open the company was and so wanting and willing to work with me and work past the sizing issues I had had.

So in this post, we will go over what happened, what my weight has to do with it, and what I think about how the brand handled this situation (HINT: with class and respect). Let’s get into it!

DISNEY STITCH SHOPPE VILLAINS VELVET EMBOSSED PRINT "KIANA" DRESS

$110

Stitch Shoppe by Loungefly debuted in the Summer of 2020 and as I stated above I KNEW I had to have various pieces. What was happening to me at the time though were various health issues and ballooning up in weight. I assumed that sizing was going to be just like it had always been and so I ordered an XL in just about everything I wanted.

When I got everything I was shocked at how it fit. It’s important to stress that the clothing wasn’t the issue per se it was me not reading the size chart well and me in complete denial about my ballooning size. After returning just about everything and repurchasing in a 2X (which ended up fitting way better) It was a real wake-up call to start a new journey, but that’s for another post on another day.

The one qualm I had was that there was a lack of “give” in any of the clothing. If you’re on bigger in size like me you’ll know we are BIG FANS of a little elastic or materials that stretch because we love having the room to breathe while also giving us some shape in our waists. A lot of the pieces just don’t have that give. I’m happy to report that is changing, but we can talk about that later.

Cut to my blog post about which brands have amazing Disney clothing (it was with a focus on Plus Size brands). I made mention of the fact that the clothing could be tight if you haven’t gotten the sizes right (something I admittedly did). and the kind folks at Funko (owners of Loungefly) reached out to me wanting me to give the collection another chance. I accepted for several reasons:

1: I appreciated the company for reaching out and wanting to actively change my mind about their sizing. Remember, I didn’t try again because my budget wasn’t in line.

2: I had lost a lot of weight by then and wasn’t sure about my sizing anymore (turns out I’m a 1X with this brand).

How did it all turn out?

Wonderfully. I understand the fit a lot better after being personally sized. I understood my mistakes and everything fit like a glove. The Disney Villains velvet dress fits wonderfully, it runs big so I recommend you size down if you decide to grab it.

The NBC dress fit perfectly as well. with my shrinking waist, I needed a 1X this time and it fits great at the belly. The chest area was slightly big but not by much. If I ever wanted to wear a shirt under it (which I did for the photos) I would have room for it.

Reviews for "The Sitch Shop Returns: Meet the New Team"

1. Sarah - 2 stars - I was really excited when I heard that The Sitch Shop was reopening, but I have to say, I was pretty disappointed with my experience. The clothes were overpriced and of poor quality. The customer service was also lacking, with rude staff members who seemed disinterested in helping customers. Overall, I expected much more from such a highly anticipated reopening, and I won't be returning.
2. Mike - 1 star - I had high hopes for The Sitch Shop reopening, but it was a complete letdown. Firstly, the selection of clothing was extremely limited, with only a few basic t-shirts and hoodies available. The prices were exorbitant for what was offered. Additionally, the store was poorly organized, making it difficult to find anything. Overall, it was a waste of time and money, and I regret even stepping foot in there.
3. Emma - 2 stars - The reopening of The Sitch Shop fell short of my expectations. The clothing options were uninspiring and lacked variety. The staff seemed overwhelmed and unhelpful, making the shopping experience frustrating. Furthermore, the prices were inflated for the quality of the items. I expected much more from a store endorsed by a celebrity, but sadly, it didn't deliver. I won't be recommending it to anyone.
