Again the Magic is a historical romance novel written by Lisa Kleypas. It is the fifth book in the Wallflowers series but can be read as a standalone novel. The story revolves around Aline Marsden, a beautiful and wealthy young woman who is considered an unmarriageable spinster due to a past scandal involving her family. Despite her stunning looks, she has resigned herself to a life of loneliness and isolation. Though the synopsis doesn t mention it, Again the Magic, is the story of Aline and Olivia Marsden, the two younger sisters of Marcus Westcliff, the hero from Book 2 of Wallflowers Series.
John, now a successful self-made man, is determined to seek revenge on the Marsden family for the wrongs he believes they have done to him, including an incident involving Aline's sister. As John and Aline spend more time together, they realize that their childhood feelings for each other have not diminished. Aline, however, is torn between her duty to her family and her growing love for John.

As for Aline. She used to be strong and brave. Though I understand why she became an imsecure worrier denying both McKenna’s and her happiness, still it would be better if she’s been braver. But maybe if she was, the story would be shorter. And maybe that’s why the author included a side story of her sister Livia (which by the way a great love story of itself too.)
John, on the other hand, struggles with his desire for revenge and his love for Aline. The novel explores the themes of forgiveness, redemption, and second chances. It delves into the complexities of love and the power of forgiveness to heal past wounds. Kleypas skillfully portrays the inner turmoil of her characters and the obstacles they must overcome to find happiness. The chemistry between John and Aline is palpable, and the reader is taken on an emotional rollercoaster as they navigate their feelings and confront their pasts. Kleypas's writing is engaging and evocative, immersing the reader in the world of Regency England.
