He was the sundance winner for best director in 2015 - after watching the film I must say it is thoroughly deserved especially since I ve watched everything else he basically competed against. They had a great opportunity to finally make a decent and authentic witch-flick, but instead they managed to drag it out with boring dialog and dullness.
Ralph Ineson and Kate Dickie also shine as the parents, William and Katherine, struggling to maintain their faith and sanity in the face of mounting terror.
