Caught in the Web of the Wicked Witch: A Cyclist's Bewitching Tale

By admin

Once upon a time, in the depths of the dark and mysterious forest, there lived a wicked witch. This witch, known as the Wicked Witch of the Webs, was feared by all creatures in the land. With her tangled black hair, pale complexion, and piercing green eyes, she had an aura of power and evil that was unmatched. One foggy morning, as the sun was just beginning to rise, the Wicked Witch of the Webs decided to leave her eerie cottage and venture into the nearby town. But instead of her usual mode of transportation, a broomstick, she had a different plan in mind - she would ride a bicycle. With her long, bony fingers wrapped tightly around the handlebars, the witch swung her leg over the frame and began pedaling with tremendous force.

She had those flying monkeys that went and snatched Dorothy and her friends and dog out of the forest.

All I could do was be empathetic and remind both my friend and me that there is a balance in the universe and that these behaviors do not go unchecked. What can it be called other than evil when the Wicked Witch of the East enslaves the Munchkins and the Wicked Witch of the West enslaves the Winkies.

With her long, bony fingers wrapped tightly around the handlebars, the witch swung her leg over the frame and began pedaling with tremendous force. The creaking of the old bicycle echoed through the silent forest as she gained speed, her black cloak billowing in the wind behind her. As she rode through the town, the Wicked Witch of the Webs caused quite a stir.

Janet here. I am the writer, editor of this journal and our previous tour accounts. Jack is our navigator and all around tour guide. we make a good team. I think this is where I usually say 'We're Back'.

The route will be the TransAm West to East to Kansas. We will be going to a 50 yr High School Reunion in Junction City, Kansas. Our Surly's will be carrying all of the usual gear. Not sure I will get a together but I will have a picture or two that will show you just what can be packed into those little bags on the sides of the bike. Stay tuned - those of you not familiar with touring will be amazed. It's like a magic show.

I know - these look like your everyday Surly Long Haul Truckers (LHTs) but no these are our Steeds. They have been our wonderful friends and means of multiple hours of transportation and fun for the last 6 yrs. Jack's (the blue one) has nearly 40,000 miles. Janet's (the green) has 25,000 miles-I retired later than he did even though I am older. We have traveled the length of the Western US (Seattle to San Diego) and used them daily for fun and transportation. They are the ONLY way to get into our local Trader Joe's parking lot mid day - any day!

Our Surly's are stock - well mostly. They do have a Brooks saddle B-17 each and just in the last few months received new gearing. We switched out the back cassette from 11-34 to a 12-36. It was my fault. I was feeling a little anxious about the 11,500+ ft we are going to be going over on the TransAm. We are looking at the possibility of needing new wheels prior to this trip. Our tires of choice are Continental Tour Rides. We rode Continental City Rides on our previous tours and have had '0' flats on tour!! Going to get the opinion of our LBS - Winning Wheels in Pacific Grove, CA. on the wheel issue. They do wonderful work if you are ever in the Monterey area and need a great mechanic be sure to check them out (they passed inspection with flying colors-only new brakes and chains needed).

For those of you who have been following my blog, you may recall that last summer I wrote about the lady who stole my parking spot in a Trader Joe’s parking lot in Delaware and how I reacted to this injustice. Well, today there was an injustice committed on one of my running mates and I am writing about it! I thought that by sharing the story I would in some way bring light to the injustice, offer some support, and help restore balance to the universe.
Wicked witch of the webs riding bicycle

Villagers who caught a glimpse of her on her bicycle hurriedly closed their doors and windows, terrified of crossing her path. Dogs barked and howled, sensing the wickedness that radiated from her presence. The townsfolk were puzzled by this unusual sight - why would a witch, known for her dark and magical abilities, resort to such a mundane means of transportation? Little did they know, the witch had a mission in mind. She needed to collect a particular ingredient for a potent spell - spiderwebs from the great oak tree located at the edge of town. With each revolution of the bicycle's wheels, the town grew closer. The Wicked Witch of the Webs pumped her legs harder, her determination unwavering. Just as her destination appeared in view, disaster struck - her front tire caught on a loose cobblestone, sending her flying over the handlebars and into a heap on the ground. As the witch sat up, dazed and disheveled, a mischievous smile spread across her face. The townsfolk, who had been watching in horror, cautiously approached her. But to their surprise, instead of a wicked cackle or a curse, the witch burst into laughter. "You may think me wicked, but today I prove that even wicked witches can fall off bikes," she exclaimed between fits of laughter. "But fear not, for I shall accomplish my task another day." With that, the Wicked Witch of the Webs gracefully rose to her feet, dusted off her cloak, and walked away, leaving the bewildered townsfolk in her wake. And although her bicycle ride may not have gone as planned, the legend of the witch on wheels would forever be etched in the town's history, a reminder that even the most sinister of beings are not immune to unexpected mishaps..

Reviews for "The Wicked Witch's Bicycle: A Tale of Arachnids and Adventures"

1. Sarah - 1 star
I found "Wicked witch of the webs riding bicycle" to be incredibly disappointing. The plot was convoluted and hard to follow, with no clear direction or purpose. The characters were underdeveloped and lacked depth, making it difficult to connect or care about them. Additionally, the writing style was lacking, with awkward and stilted dialogue throughout. Overall, I was not entertained or engaged by this book, and I would not recommend it to others.
2. John - 2 stars
While "Wicked witch of the webs riding bicycle" had a unique concept, the execution fell flat for me. The pacing was incredibly slow, and it took a long time for anything of substance to happen. The story seemed to drag on with unnecessary descriptions and details that didn't add to the overall plot. The characters were also quite unlikable and difficult to root for, leaving me uninvested in their outcomes. Unfortunately, this book didn't live up to my expectations, and I wouldn't consider reading anything else by this author in the future.
3. Emma - 2 stars
I had high hopes for "Wicked witch of the webs riding bicycle," but it ultimately left me disappointed. The writing was overly descriptive to the point of becoming tedious, and the plot felt disjointed and poorly constructed. I struggled to connect with the characters, as they lacked depth and development. Additionally, the dialogue was often forced and unnatural, making it difficult to immerse myself in the story. While the concept was intriguing, the execution fell short, and I wouldn't recommend this book to others.
