The Witch Subversion is a South Korean film that was released on Netflix in 2018. The film tells the story of a young girl named Ja-yoon who is adopted by a couple after mysteriously losing her memory. As she grows up, Ja-yoon begins to discover that she possesses supernatural powers and is caught in a web of government agents and secret experiments. The actors in The Witch Subversion deliver outstanding performances, bringing the characters to life with gripping emotion and intensity. Kim Da-mi portrays Ja-yoon, capturing the character's vulnerability and strength. She effectively showcases the internal struggle Ja-yoon faces as she navigates her powers and tries to uncover her true identity.
Of course, it couldn’t last. When punk rock consumed the music industry towards the end of the 1970s, Zeppelin were suddenly regarded as unnecessary behemoths, the veritable dinosaurs of rock. But in the last 30 years or so, there has been something of gradual volte-face, through which the band have been promoted back to the industry premiership, where they now reside as permanent fixtures – inviolate, immaculate and beyond reproach.
It was during the cooler months when their disciples could be mistaken for a real army, however, as they would wander around in old army great coats, the type with big fat belts, possibly holding a Zeppelin album under their arm, to show their allegiance. In their time, these conduits certainly attracted their own disciples, because in the first half of the 1970s most young men between the ages of 15 and 25 tried to look like Page or Plant shoulder-length locks, billowing flares covered perhaps in one of the band s rune-like symbols , maybe a velvet jacket and a pair of platform boots.
She effectively showcases the internal struggle Ja-yoon faces as she navigates her powers and tries to uncover her true identity. Another standout performance comes from Choi Woo-shik, who plays the role of Choi Jae-hoon, a kind-hearted detective determined to help Ja-yoon unravel the truth. Choi brings a sense of unwavering loyalty to his character and provides moments of light-heartedness in an otherwise dark and mysterious film.
That Time Jimmy Page Tried To Communicate Telepathically With David Bowie
Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page's fascination with the occult during his band's height only added to Zeppelin's enduring mystique among fans and contemporaries.
Page was famously fascinated with the writings of Aleister Crowley — he once lived in Crowley's old house — and often practiced dark magick "rituals" (mostly on groupies) in the 1970s.
While we may never know for sure if Page really believes in magick or if his enthusiasm for the occult was merely a byproduct of a bottomless supply of cocaine, but fellow rock icon David Bowie did believe, at least for a time. and he did not like the darkness Page showed him.
One a recent episode of Jake Brennan's Disgraceland, Brennan describes a 1974 encounter in New York between Page and Bowie (as reported by a Page confidant) in which the guitarist tried to communicate telepathically with Bowie.
Page was relating to Bowie a terrifying paranormal encounter he'd had one night at Crowley's mansion. Bowie urged Page to tell him more and more. As the two swept up lines of cocaine, Bowie prodded more deeply about what Page knew of the occult. Each time he did, however, Page would strangely clam up and start blankly. It got awkward, but Bowie tried his best to be polite.
As Bowie came up from doing another line, he noticed the suddenly silent Page was smirking.
Bowie was quickly overwhelmed by an uneasy feeling. He thought he saw the lights in the apartment flicker. Page was still smiling and eerily staring through him. Major Tom was getting freaked out.
"I'd like you do leave," Bowie said at last.
Rather than acknowledge the request, Page pointed over Bowie's shoulder at an open window.
"Why don't you leave through the window?" Bowie replied, angrily.
After several more excruciating moments, the guitarist relented, leaving without another word.
Bowie was done with Page, down with Crowley and done with the dark arts. He later had his home exorcised for fear of whatever bad juju Page had left behind. From that point on, Bowie avoided Page wherever possible.

The various rituals Crowley and his followers practised were connected by a system of belief known as ‘Magick’, the key tenant of which is known as the Law of Thelema. It says: “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law”. Following this principle to its logical conclusion, Crowley abandoned the conventions of normal society and embraced impulse and individualism. It’s little wonder, then, that Crowley’s philosophy became so popular during the counterculture era. Jimmy Page was especially fascinated by the occultist’s work, collecting manuscripts and artworks for his personal Crowley collection. He even bought Crowley’s old house on the shore of Loch Ness in 1971, apparently because the haunted cottage provided a good atmosphere for songwriting.
The antagonists in The Witch Subversion are portrayed by Jo Min-su and Park Hee-soon, who excel in their roles as ruthless government agents. Jo brings a sinister presence to her character, evoking both fear and unease. Park, on the other hand, displays a chilling calmness as he carries out his villainous acts. Overall, The Witch Subversion's actors deliver compelling performances that enhance the gripping narrative of the film. - Sarah - 2 stars - I couldn't stand the acting in "The Witch Subversion" on Netflix. The actors felt so wooden and emotionless, it was like watching robots on the screen. It was impossible to connect with any of the characters because their performances were so lackluster. I was really disappointed because the plot seemed interesting, but the poor acting ruined the whole experience for me.

I would not recommend it to anyone.
