The witch suspense is a common theme found in various forms of literature, movies, and television shows. It revolves around the character of a witch, often portrayed as a woman with supernatural powers and a connection to dark magic. The suspense comes from the mysterious and often sinister nature of the witch, as well as the potential danger she presents to the other characters in the story. One of the key elements of the witch suspense is the fear of the unknown. The audience is often left in the dark about the true motivations and intentions of the witch, which generates a sense of uncertainty and tension. This uncertainty is often amplified by the witch's ability to manipulate and deceive those around her, making it difficult for the other characters to discern her true nature.

A lone girl from the remote planet Mercury transfers to the Asticassia School of Technology, run by the Beneritt Group which dominates the mobile suit industry. May All Blessings Find Their Way to You, I m Wishing It, Witch From Mercury s final episode, made that relationship explicitly clear in its final act, establishing in a flash- foward to three years after the events of the series that Suletta and Miorine are now happily married and that while Miorine is still grappling with the legacy of her father Delling and her own role in conflicts that came to pass between Earth and Space during the events of the series, Suletta herself is on the slow path to recovering from the toll of being a Gundam pilot.

Witch from mercury ending 2

This uncertainty is often amplified by the witch's ability to manipulate and deceive those around her, making it difficult for the other characters to discern her true nature. Another aspect of the witch suspense is the power dynamic between the witch and the other characters. The witch is often portrayed as being more powerful or knowledgeable than those around her, giving her an advantage in any potential conflict.

Nice. I might wait for another episode or two to air because 24 minute episodes kill me but good to know.

Haven't watched a gundam series since Wing back when I was a kid, but have always kind've had the itch. What's the consensus on Witch from Mercury, do people like it?

I've been seeing the lead up to season 2 while following Gundam info on YT but how the heck is there a season 2 already?

Aina the End is probably my favorite singer since Shiina Ringo. She’s just so emotive and has such a distinct tone. I adore her work with BiSH. This song probably isn’t even in the top 20 things she’s done though haha. She also did another gorgeous theme for Gundam called Hikari no Hate with Sugizo (Luna Sea/X Japan) on violin

Yeah, I've been following. It's just surprising how fast 2 came after 1. Is that normal with anime? Or is this a new trend of taking the Gaas approach with seasons being a few months long, with another coming right on its tail?

Technically this is the 2nd cour of Season 1, not Season 2. Which is why they only had a single season break to air the second half of season 1.

Also the series was already announced to be 4 cour (48 episodes). So since that was announced early on, I would expect the 2nd season of 24 episodes to some relatively quickly as well.

That toll is enacted in the rest of the final episode, as we see Suletta surpass the physical limitations of the Gundam Calibarn’s unfiltered Permet systems to protect her mother and family—breaking through the Data Storm to not just control her own Gundam and every other surviving Gundam suit from the series, but to connect with the spirits of perished Gundam pilots from throughout the show. Using the power of the Gundams, Suletta unleashes a massive wave of Permet energy that shuts down the dual impending threats of Quiet Zero—her mother’s base of operations to usurp and control every Permet-utilizing system in the Earth Sphere—and the massive space laser threatening to blow it, and all of Suletta’s friends, up. But crucially above all, in doing so she dissipates the Gundams themselves, from her own suit to the Aerial that houses the Data Storm soul of her sister Eri , breaking them down at a molecular level so that their powers can never be used or exploited again. It’s an act of profound love, not just one for Suletta’s blood family, but the connections she has made over the course of the series, and most particularly her relationship with Miorine. It’s a greed, as Suletta describes it— she wants to spend time with the people she cares most about , and it’s also the ultimate expression of her love for, and desire to protect, Miorine.

This power imbalance fuels the suspense as the audience wonders how the other characters will be able to confront or defeat the witch. The witch suspense is also often associated with the supernatural and paranormal. Witches are often depicted as being able to perform spells, curses, and other magical feats, which adds an element of fantasy and mysticism to the story. The presence of these supernatural elements can escalate the tension and suspense, as the audience is left wondering what other powers or abilities the witch may possess. Additionally, the witch suspense can also play on cultural and historical fears and prejudices. In many societies, witches have been associated with evil and blamed for various misfortunes and tragedies. This association can be exploited in a story to heighten the suspense and create a sense of unease or dread. By tapping into these fears and prejudices, the witch suspense can tap into deeper emotions and anxieties within the audience. In conclusion, the witch suspense is a popular and effective narrative tool used to generate tension, uncertainty, and fear. It relies on the mysterious and often sinister nature of witches, as well as their abilities to manipulate, deceive, and harm others. By exploiting fears of the unknown, power imbalances, supernatural elements, and cultural prejudices, the witch suspense creates a captivating and suspenseful narrative experience for the audience..
