Bridget Bishop, a woman accused of being a witch, was one of the first individuals to be tried in the infamous Salem witch trials of 1692. She was born in England but later moved to Massachusetts, where the trials took place. Bishop was known for her eccentric behavior and unconventional lifestyle, which made her an easy target for accusations of witchcraft. She was often seen wearing provocative clothing and was rumored to have a sharp tongue. These characteristics, combined with the prevailing superstitions and fear of witches at the time, earned her a reputation as a witch. In May 1692, Bishop was brought before the court on charges of practicing witchcraft.
