  Took way too long for this game since it's painfully slow and with a lot of bug dealing with items, I had to reset my save file 5 times already. The amount of works I did for this game is also insane giving it's just a short game.

  Prologue

  The prologue for Little Witch in the Woods opens with a train traveling at night under a star filled sky. The walkthrough below will show you how to play as Ellie, a young, spunky girl who is the second best student at her Witch school, on her way to a big city called Highlion to become an apprentice for the next 3 years. Accompanying Ellie is Virgil, her talking witch hat, who often acts as a voice of reason when Ellie gets carried away.

  After the initial banter between Ellie and Virgil, Ellie will bring up a particular custom she's concerned about once they arrive in Highlion: according to her friend Jenny, it's customary to take off your shoes when disembarking the train at Highlion. Virgil is skeptical of this so your first mission is to prove him wrong and talk to the other passengers on the train to gather more information about this quirky custom.

  After talking with Virgil banter, you'll be free to wander around the train's cabin to talk to the other passengers. Talk to the bartender on the right side of the cabin. Doing so will teach you more about keyword conversations, a mechanic in the game where you can initiate conversations with NPCs using the keywords you gather during interactions.

  From there you'll see the dialogue menu, which is divided into three sections: Normal, Special and Training Activity. In the Normal category, you'll be able to either chit-chat with the bartender, talk about any personal stories or view any items he has for sale. Press the right arrow key on your keyboard (or use the joystick if you're on a controller) to scroll to the Special category and select the Lace Up Boots.

  While the Bartender is familiar with the 'taking your shoes off' rumor that Ellie has mentioned, Virgil isn't entirely convinced and encourages Ellie to talk to more than one person to confirm the rumor. Open the keywords menu view your active keywords and any quests related to them. You'll need to talk to at least one more person to complete this quest: either the Train Crew or a mystery passenger. Head into the next cabin on the left to find them.

  In the adjoining cabin, you'll be able lt talk to either the Train Crew on the far left or the passenger sitting on the chair by the window and ask about the Lace Up boots. Talking to the Train Crew won't get you any specific information on whether the rumor is true or not so talk to the passenger, a wolf named Roy, sitting in the chair and ask about the boots.

  After talking with Roy and discovering that your friend Jenny was merely playing a nasty trick on you, return to your seat in the other cabin and wait until you arrive in Highlion. This will complete your first quest.
