The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Magic Nights is laced with inky dark fruit, licorice, crème de cassis, chocolate, sweet spice and licorice. I would give the tannins a few years to soften, but there is a lot to like and to look forward to here. This is an especially potent expression of Stags Leap, and it works so well. Winemaker Chris Tynan draws fruit from across all the Lede estate parcels. As always, this series, known as “Rock Block” (with a name that changes each year) is especially luscious. WE 95 95 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 7/1/2021
This is a robust, deeply concentrated wine, richly layered and densely textured in red fruit, crushed rock, sage and cedar. Grippy tannins reveal its youthful vigor and relative restraint that is not ready to rush out of the gate quite yet. Let the power deepen and develop further in the cellar and enjoy from 2028–2038. Blended of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot and 3% Merlot, the deep garnet-purple colored 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Magic Nights prances out of the glass with showy notes of crème de cassis, blueberry coulis and chocolate-covered cherries plus hints of garrigue, pencil lead and beef drippings. Full-bodied, the palate is jam-packed with muscular, energetic black fruits, supported by firm, ripe tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and savory. (Lisa Perrotti-Brown)

JD 93 93 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 1/27/2021
Another beautiful wine, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Magic Nights checks in as 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot, and 3% Merlot. Revealing a deep, opaque purple color as well as classic Cabernet notes of ripe black and blue fruits, smoked tobacco, scorched earth, and graphite, this beauty hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a stacked mid-palate, building yet ripe tannins, and a great finish. This is s complete, balanced, satisfying Cabernet Sauvignon that delivers ample richness as well as complexity. I would be happy to drink bottles any time over the coming 10–15 years. (Jeb Dunnuck)

Reviews for "The Director's Cut: Unseen Footage and Alternate Endings of "The Worst Witch" 1998"

1. Emma Thompson - 2/5 stars - I found "The Worst Witch 1998 crew" to be quite underwhelming. The acting performances were lackluster and the storyline felt disjointed. The special effects were nothing to write home about either. Overall, I was left feeling disappointed and wishing I hadn't wasted my time watching this adaptation.
2. John Smith - 1/5 stars - I have to say, "The Worst Witch 1998 crew" was simply dreadful. The acting was wooden and the dialogue cheesy. The plot felt forced and the whole production seemed like a cheap knockoff of better witch-themed movies. I couldn't wait for it to end and I would strongly advise others to avoid this film.
3. Samantha Brown - 2/5 stars - As a fan of the book series, I had high hopes for "The Worst Witch 1998 crew." Sadly, it fell short of my expectations. The casting choices were questionable and some of the characters didn't resemble their literary counterparts at all. The pacing was off, making the film feel rushed and disconnected. Overall, I was left feeling disappointed and wishing for a more faithful adaptation.
4. Jack Wilson - 1/5 stars - I found "The Worst Witch 1998 crew" to be painfully dull. The performances were lackluster and the story felt overly simplistic. The production value was low and it seemed like the filmmakers were more interested in cashing in on the popularity of the book series rather than creating a compelling film. I would not recommend wasting your time on this forgettable adaptation.
5. Emily Davis - 2/5 stars - "The Worst Witch 1998 crew" left me unimpressed. The acting was mediocre at best and the storyline lacked depth. The magical elements felt forced and the movie failed to capture the charm of the original books. It had potential, but ultimately fell short. I would suggest sticking to the books or exploring other witch-themed movies instead.
