Every time I watch it, I think how incredibly foolish Belle is when she's doing it "to keep hades from getting my baby".

This time when I watched it, I put my finger on the reasons why it's so damn stupid.

  1. Hades is making it very obvious he is just toying with Rumbelle. He don't want their baby. He just wants to piss them off. He even says as much to Belle that he doesn't actually want their baby and he makes it clear he's having SO MUCH FUN upsetting them over "I own your baby bwahaha!"
  2. Does Belle READ or does she NOT READ? The original Sleeping Beauty story involves. a man basically getting down and dirty with sleeping beauty when she's asleep. Her baby wakes her up when he/she sucks her finger for milk. I've never read the original fairy tales, but Belle acts like she's such an expert on literature. You'd think she (and the writers of Once) would know the original story involved babies coming out of their mother's stomach. which makes this whole, "I won't be able to give birth in a sleeping curse thing," fishy. Because if Henry almost died during his sleeping curse because "magic is different here", the laws of magic don't apply so solidly in the underworld. PLUS in Once, what was true of a sleeping curse "it will make you see only your deepest regrets" is not true the next seven times in the show. Or the eighth. They forget what they started with and keep changing it.
  3. When have good things ever come from listening to Zelena? Go to Zelena for advice, expect to get screwed over. And it's your own fault for trusting her. Don't believe me? See Hook in s5, e1 or e2. He desperately needed to trust her, and she screwed him over with happiness shining from her eyes.

Yeah, Belle, you're very smart. Congatulations!
